Standard and rapid response Concealed Sprinkler are ornamental sprinklers with a flat cover plate intended to hide the sprinkler for cosmetic reasons.
The cover plate comes off when the deflector is exposed to heat from a fire and lowers to its operational position to function similarly to a pendent sprinkler.
In ornamental applications where colors are needed, the specific polyester and PTFE coatings might be employed. These coatings have also been looked at for installation in corrosive environments and are classified or approved as corrosion resistant, as shown in Approval Charts.
Sprinklers with thermosensitive glass bulbs are known as concealed sprinklers, and they include a beautiful flat cover plate that is intended to hide the sprinkler for a smooth ceiling.
The cover plates come in a variety of ornamental finishes to meet architectural specifications. Prior to installing the cover plate and cup, the sprinkler may be installed and tested thanks to the inventive design.
The cover plate and cup assembly are screwed to the sprinkler housing using threads, allowing for a 12.7mm (1/2″) vertical adjustment.
Operation of Concealed Sprinkler
The Sprinkler operating device is state of the art heat responsive frangible glass bulb supplied by a world
leader in this innovative technology.
The glass bulb contains a fluid which expands when exposed to heat. When the rated temperature is reached, the bulb shatters and water flows through the sprinkler and strikes the deflector, forming a uniform water spray pattern to control or extinguish the fire.
